A first for the Bay of Plenty

MT Core Spinal Decompression comes to Papamoa.

Restore will be the first clinic in the Bay of Plenty to offer the MT Core, a computer-guided table for non-surgical spinal decompression. It's for people with disc-related back pain and sciatica, and it sits alongside more than a decade of chiropractic experience, so decompression is one part of a considered plan of care, not a stand-alone treatment.

Common questions

Chiropractic care in Papamoa, explained.

What is spinal decompression?

Spinal decompression is a non-surgical treatment. You lie comfortably on the MT Core table while it applies slow, computer-controlled traction to gently lengthen the spine. At Restore it's used for people with disc-related back pain and sciatica, as one part of a plan alongside chiropractic care and exercise.

What do people see a chiropractor for?

Common reasons include lower back pain, sciatica, neck pain, disc-related pain, stiffness and sports injuries. Your first visit starts with a thorough assessment, so we understand what's going on before any care begins.

Is Restore a Registered ACC provider?

Yes. Restore Spine & Sport is a Registered ACC provider. If you've been injured, ACC may contribute to the cost of your treatment.

Do I need a referral?

No. You can book directly with a chiropractor in New Zealand, without a GP referral.

Should I see a chiropractor or a physio?

Both help people with back, neck and joint problems. Chiropractic care focuses on the spine and how it moves, with hands-on care alongside exercise. At Restore, decompression, chiropractic care and exercise rehabilitation sit in one plan, so you don't have to piece it together yourself.

Where are you, and when do you open?

We're at 4/80 Parton Rd, Papamoa, a short drive from Mount Maunganui, Te Puke and the rest of Tauranga. We open in January 2027. Join the list above and we'll let you know as soon as bookings open.
